Should I count my childcare work in my exercise diary?

Hi, I work at a playschool 3 days a week for 6 hours a day. On the exercise forum there is a section for Childcare, playing/sitting with children lightly. Am I doing right in putting my 6hrs of work each time onto the computer, as it comes up with 1134cals burned. My setting is at light activity. Or should I not be logging these at all?

Hi,

Given that the childcare serves as your occupation I would recommend not including it in your exercise diary as this could lead to a false economy with relation to your daily calorie balance. Your work setting will take into account your work demands so try to get calorie burning through other activities, like walking, housework and so on.

Hope this helps,

Kelly
