How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost 9st 7lbs133lbs60.3kg and it took 15 months. I still have the last 2st28lbs12.7kg to reach my finishing target and from there I can switch to maintaining my weight.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I just wanted to be more present with my kids and I was fed up of feeling so low on energy and sluggish all the time.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I started my research on Google initially. I heard that Nutracheck was better than alternative calorie-counting apps that I'd tried before. I then decided the yearly payment was better value for money as it cost less than a takeaway!

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I have always struggled with binge eating and yo-yo dieting since I was a teenager. I've always been either overweight or obese, and this is the first time I've had an insight into my eating behaviours and understood what and where my weaknesses are.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

Since losing weight, I've completed the 'Couch to 5k' challenge, and have not only seen an improvement in my mobility, but I now experience less joint pain too. I also sleep better, and my heart rate has lowered, which are both real positives.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

I won't lie and say it was easy, because you must want it. What Nutracheck does is give you the tools and education to help you make those changes without judgment and in a safe way. It's your mind you have to convince, not your body.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

The most difficult part was keeping consistent and learning that your weight fluctuates so I wasn't going to lose weight every week. I also found the link between my mental health and my relationship with the scales an important area to 'crack' - I had to learn that as long as my weight was decreasing steadily over time, it meant that the process was still working.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel like a different person. I'm leaving a better, healthier legacy for my children now. We now have home-cooked, nutritious meals, and I enjoy exercising with them.

Any notable milestones to report?

I can now go into any high street shop and I don't need to buy any plus-size clothes.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. You have to be consistent even on hard days.
  2. Nutracheck can only give you the information and support. You have to do it for yourself.
  3. As well as eating within a calorie deficit, you need to drink more water, eat more veg and move more. You'll see results!
