How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

2st 3lbs31lbs14kg over 8 months (started Mid-June 2018)

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

My partner Chris first downloaded the app, and I had FOMO! (Chris says I suffer from this!).

Also a friend was making a dress for me for my cousins wedding - and I realised I had put on weight from the time she first measured me! (The image is of me at the wedding in June 18).

I had also developed plantar fasciitis in my right heel in October 2017, so had gone from being very active to limited exercise - which I was finding extremely frustrating and naturally I gained weight!

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

My partner Chris introduced it to me - I had previously used My Fitness Pal, initially I didn't want to pay for an app - but I found the functionality significantly better.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

Yes it has as I have always been a very active person playing netball, running, kayaking, dog walking and cycling. It was having plantar fasciitis which stopped me from being so active that made me put on a little extra weight.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

Having Chris use the same app and support me throughout the process really helped and we learnt together to 'make better choices' (this became our saying for 2018) and also learning to reduce our portion sizes too - we weigh out all of our food now.

What was the most difficult thing?

Going to friends' houses and eating out - and trying not to appear rude! Also not drinking as much beer and wine! I have switched to drinking more gin and slim line tonic now.

How do you feel now compared to before?

Fantastic! And the response I'm getting from friends and family has made me feel wonderful too.

We've not only lost weight but we've become happier and healthier too. I'm back running and we have a 10k race coming up soon, which for the first time in over a year I'm looking forward to!

Any notable milestones to report?

During my birthday in August - everyone was commenting on how healthy I looked! We started using the app in June and by this time I had lost about a stone.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Diet Buddy - Find someone to join you for support and motivation on your diet journey.
  2. Make Better Choices - I filled up on soups and sushi to get me through the first few months and we now choose better snacks - which fill you up for longer (for example rice cakes).
  3. Move More - I now have a Garmin watch (which prompts me to move and go for a walk - Bella Boo my dog loves it!). I also use a sit stand desk at my studio - resulting in more energy whilst I'm working.
