How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost over 3st 42lbs 19kg in just under 6 months (Jan to Jun 2020).

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

Feeling that I needed to improve my diet and general health in my 60s.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

Past app user for many years (but always yo-yo'd).

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I have always had to manage it.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

It was easier during lockdown with restaurants and take-aways closed, and more time to exercise.

What was the most difficult thing?

Getting used to smaller portions and weighing food (and feeling hungry).

How do you feel now compared to before?

100% better - people say I look 15 years younger!

Any notable milestones to report?

Achieving a 3st 42lbs 19kg loss when I originally only intended to lose 1st 14lbs 6.3kg (but I still might try to lose a further 7lbs to reach 12st 7lbs 175lbs 79kg which is the optimal weight for my height).

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Try to eat a smaller breakfast (about 200 cals max) to allow for a larger meal for supper (about 600 cals) otherwise you will be tempted to snack or be naughty at night.
  2. Buy the little kids packet of crisps or sweets so you can still have ONE treat a day but it will only be about 99 cals max (instead of the usual adult bars of chocolate or crisps).
  3. Weigh everything and don't try to guess the weight (you'd be surprised how much you UNDER estimate weight, and therefore calories).
