Rebecca's story
What was your start weight, your current weight, how much weight have you lost, and how long did it take?
I started at 26st 6lbs370lbs167.8kg and I’m now 11st 5lbs159lbs72.1kg, so I’ve lost 15st 1lbs211lbs95.7kg in total. It’s been a long-term journey, it took me two years rather than being a quick fix, and that’s what has made it sustainable.
Was there something that prompted your decision to lose weight?
I reached a point where I knew something had to change. It wasn’t just about appearance, it was how I felt physically and mentally. I wanted a better quality of life and to feel more in control of my health, especially for my son, as I’d just given birth and knew I needed to make a change.
Have you experienced any health improvements?
Absolutely. My energy levels are completely different, everyday activities feel easier, and I just feel healthier overall. Even things like my sleep and mood have improved massively.
How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?
At first, it was definitely an adjustment, but I focused on making small, realistic changes rather than overhauling everything overnight. Over time, those changes simply became part of my routine.
What was the most challenging aspect of your weight loss journey, and how did you overcome this?
Staying consistent was the hardest part, especially during times when my motivation dropped. I overcame that by building discipline and reminding myself why I started. I also allowed for flexibility so I didn’t feel restricted.
How do you feel since losing the weight, compared to before?
I feel like a completely different person. I’m more confident, more active, and generally happier. Before, things felt harder both physically and mentally - now I feel capable and in control.
Do you have any non-scale victories you would like to share?
Definitely - things like fitting into smaller clothes, having more energy day to day, and being able to move more freely. Even simple things like walking without getting out of breath feel like huge wins.
How did you feel the app supported you - were there any specific features you found helpful?
The app really helped with accountability and structure. Tracking my progress and having something to refer back to kept me consistent, and it made the whole process feel much more manageable.
What does weight maintenance look like for you now?
For me, it’s all about balance. I still stay mindful of what I eat and keep active, but I don’t feel like I’m dieting anymore. It’s more about maintaining healthy habits long term.
What advice would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?
Start small and be consistent. You don't have to be perfect, just keep going. Focus on building habits you can stick to, and remember that it's a journey, not a race.
