How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I've lost 3st 9lbs 51lbs 23kg in 6 months.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

My weight began rising in my thirties with the calories that come from a lot of going out and drinking, and this continued into my 40s. I decided it was time to sort things out before it got out of hand.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I was searching the App Store, looking for something to help me approach weight loss from a more scientific angle.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

It's always been tricky for me, but before I didn't do enough to counter the calories. The app makes it easy to keep track of your intake and exercise, and also is an education into what actually I thought was healthy quite often wasn't!

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

Strangely, as most of this was done under Covid induced furlough, I've had the time to shop for more sensible choices and to exercise more at home.

What was the most difficult thing?

Getting the munchies after 9pm! I always try and keep 100 calories in case I need some yoghurt or an apple or something similar.

How do you feel now compared to before?

Much better, it has reenergised me, and I feel proud when I think of the transformation.

Any notable milestones to report?

I think every lb is a milestone, because weight loss is never that easy!

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Be realistic - if you go for 2lbs a week loss, you won't have many calories to use each day. If it looks too much of a reduction, go for 1.5 or 1. Be honest with yourself.
  2. Be relentless - yes, you will have weeks where you don't lose any weight and you can't work out why, you'll have weekends where you exceed the calories with treats.... Doesn't matter - on Monday get back on it and keep going.
  3. Be active - any exercise helps. Even if it's just getting your step count up, it all adds up.
