How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

Since joining Nutracheck I have lost a total of 4st 2.1lbs 58.1lbs 26.3kg – it took me 7 months.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I have always struggled with my weight over the years, but when we went into lockdown back in March I decided I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to make a positive out of a negative situation. I certainly achieved that through my weight loss.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

My mum had mentioned the app before. Then one day, I was talking to my boss and mentioned I was trying to lose weight. She suggested the Nutracheck app and said that calorie counting was good for weight loss – so I thought I would give it a go for myself.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I have always had to try and manage my weight. This was my third attempt at trying to lose weight and finally managed to succeed. But I have to admit, I have found this app so much easier to stick to than other diets I have tried in the past.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

I have found it fairly easy to fit the new changes into my lifestyle as I work better hours now, making it easier to monitor what I eat. On top of that, I cook a lot more now which I never used to do either.

What was the most difficult thing?

The most difficult thing for me is that I work as a cook, so it can be quite tempting sometimes to give in and have a dessert when it is left over from dinner service. I have had to teach myself it is mind over matter – you don't actually need it.

How do you feel now compared to before?

Since losing this weight, my confidence has improved big time. I feel like I have so much more energy now too. People continue to stop me on the street and tell me how fantastic I'm looking now.

Any notable milestones to report?

One of the main milestones for me was when I realised which foods are better for you over others. I also go for regular walks now, which feels like a big achievement as this is something I used to avoid doing.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Don't give up.
  2. You can do it even if you think you can't.
  3. If you have a bad day, get straight back on it the next day.
