How many calories does Bikram yoga burn?

Hello, I am just about to start a 10 week course of Bikram Yoga (Hot Yoga) and I wonder if you know how many calories this burns. From a brief internet search it seemed to be about 1000 calories? Thank you, JL

Bikram yoga has been suggested to achieve between 300-500 calories in a90 minute session and this is in part due to the nature of it takingplace in a heated room at roughly 110 Fahrenheit. “Hot yoga”as it is referred to in many countries helps the entire body to relax,leading to a deeper stretch and helping to avoid injuries. Practitionersof hot yoga claim that regular practice will normalize weight, improvemuscle tone, and help you enjoy vibrant good health and well-being.

Some practitioners will boast the ability to burn 500-1000 per 90minuteclass but I recommend choosing a figure between 300-500 depending onyour technique, level of experience and current fitness level.
