What's the best time of day to take supplements?

Does it matter what time of the day you take the tablets? Logic would say a once a day tab should be taken in the morning with breakfast, but does it really matter if you take it at dinner or even just before you go to bed? And how are they affected by prescribed medications such as anti-depressants - if at all...? Amanda

Hi Amanda

Apart from the general rule that a multivitamin should be taken with food it’s really your choice as to whether it is with breakfast, lunch or your evening meal. Do check what the label says though, in case the instruction is to take it with a main meal. There shouldn’t be any interactions between a basic A-Z multivitamin and medications, but there could be with higher dose individual supplement, and it is always worth checking with your GP. I hope this helps!
