Advice for a breast-feeding mum?

I am breast-feeding my 9wk old baby but she also gets 2-3 'top up' bottles in a 24hr period. My goal is to loose 1st initially and my daily calorie allowance after my online assessment is showing as 1421kcal (though it wouldn't allow me to continue to next page whilst b/feeding box was ticked, so this was left un-checked). Is this enough calories for me whilst breast-feeding as I don't want to deprive me or my baby, but would still like to loose weight sensibly.

For many sensible reasons the official advice is not to ?diet? when you are breast-feeding, but as long as you are in good health, eating a healthy balanced diet (and I'd recommend you take a daily multivitamin and mineral too), it's okay for you to restrict your calories to around 1700-1800 a day. As you gradually tail off breast feeding (World Health Organisation guidelines are to exclusively breast feed for the first six months of life), you can bring your calorie intake down to the 1421 you have been recommended.
