Not managing to eat 1400Kcals per day, is this OK?

I have set myself a target of 1 lb per week and had given myself two days off so it worked out that I should be eating 1200Kcals for 5 days and 1862 for two days. This week I haven't managed 1200 Kcals once yet I feel full everyday. Is something wrong, or could it be that I'm only 4ft 8 and don't need as many Kcals?

Hi thanks for your question – I hope you don’t make too many people envious that you’re finding it so easy to cut your calories!

As long as you’re eating a range of foods and do actually feel appropriate hunger I would not worry. Often people find that when they eat more healthily they feel fuller but are still getting enough vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, which is the key point.

That said I would normally encourage people to achieve at least 1200 calories over the longer term. As you do have a smaller frame, 1000 calories per day or 7000 calories over the week will probably be fine though. But you may want to take an A-Z multivitamin to be one the safe side.
